Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid
‘For a moment, twenty-five-year old Emira was being paid thirty-two dollars an hour to dance in a grocery store with her best friend and her favourite little human.’
‘Deep into her thirties Emira would wrestle with what to take from her time at their house. Some days she carried the sweet relief, that Briar would learn to become a self-sufficient person. And some days Emira would carry the dread.’

I suffer from Zoom phobia. Here’s what that looks like, Gemma Correll illustrates the social phobia widespread in today’s world. Her words are super relatable if you’re like us, and stare at a contact for hours before you’re able to actually pick up the phone and call or now have to add video calls to your list of most embarrassing moment (oops).
‘Quick, say something witty and insightful!

I was looking through some old recipe books belonging to my parents, and I found this printout of an email that my mum sent my dad when they were both living apart just after they got married. I thought it was so adorable because it’s something that now my dad can cook with his eyes closed, but at that time he had to ask my mum for the recipe and print it out and tick the steps ( he’s saved it very carefully and when I took the folder down to take a picture, he said that he had kept it for so many many years, but that I would tear it in a couple of minutes 😐).
